In late September 2020, the WDA sponsored a safe and welcoming day of outdoor shopping throughout the Downtown district. The day was a big success for our challenged merchants as many shoppers and diners enjoyed the beautiful day. Skip the in-person event at Belleview Station and instead browse the Denver BAZAAR’s virtual shopping platform.

It’s located at I-225 and Alameda Avenue, close to the Buckley Air Force Base and Anschutz Medical Campus. Most suburbs have their own shopping areas outside of the Denver shadow. You usually don’t need to go far to find what you need. There are a limited number of traditional enclosed malls in the metro, with Cherry Creek and Park Meadows the highlights. An hour south you can discover a number of top malls in Colorado Springs, in case you’re still searching. Thanks to the Sunshine State you can enjoy outdoor shopping malls like Lincoln Road in South Beach. Many International Brands have set up shop in Miami. Southlands is not only a shopping center but serves as a town center for Aurora with events of all kinds for all ages and interests. From the Sounds of Southlands Concert series in the summer to the many holiday events around the ice skating rink “The Pond” all winter. Treat yourself to a wonderful dinner and then dessert at the Poke Story or The Cookie Company. Take the family out for an afternoon of shopping and dining at the Town Center at Aurora.
